Why this Blog?

There’s really no simple answer. However, I can list a few reasons:

Personal Reasons:

  1. Ego. Yes, I like to blab sometimes…
  2. Being social. As much as I’m embarrassed to admit, I do occasionally find people fascinating.
  3. Sharing artwork, photos, and music.
  4. Spreading strange and interesting news. When I come across something incredibly stupid, I feel a moral obligation to share these findings with others.
  5. Possibly getting a few friends to get together to create a community of interesting posts.
  6. Boredom. I have a slight break from real work and thought this could be fun to do…
  7. Save money: see above. This helps prevent me from going out and getting into trouble.
  8. History. A few hundred years from now, my great great great great great grandchildren will proudly say (due to the Internet being archived), “this was my great great great great great grandfather, he was a real asshole.”
  9. Learning. Yes, surprisingly enough you can learn from other people… In particular, what not to do.

Technical Reasons:

  1. A site to later post some pictures - I will be getting back into photography and in particular High Dynamic Range image (HDR) photography. I’m not sure if it will be an extension of this website or a separate site altogether. This really depends on how this website evolves (or if it evolves at all.)
  2. Experimentation. As we exist in a competitive society, we need to stay on top of various technologies. Technology changes daily, and if we don’t keep on top of these developments, we will find ourselves looking for new ways to make a living. Read: you will find yourself homeless.
  3. Applying techniques from Mightyfunk.com to other websites. I’ve learned a lot from the latest setup and extensions of this software and could potentially apply it to my real website/business: Lunarstudio Architectural Renderings.
  4. Learning about new search engine optimization techniques.
  5. To help boost the rankings of my other websites and business.
  6. Sharing methods of photography and 3D artwork.

Miscellaneous Reasons:

  1. Myspace is a piece of shit. That’s all it is is one gigantic advertising machine full of bling. Why go there when I can have my own real ‘my space’ that’s more effective, customizable, and gets more traffic.
  2. Myspace is now owned by Rupert Murdoch who owns the most media corporations (such as Fox) with a heavy conservative bent. In my opinion, he’s largely responsible for spreading misinformation to the masses. I think there’s a certain level of wealth that’s acceptable then it turns into a game full of greed. I don’t like greedy people…
  3. Facebook is a better piece of shit than Myspace. It’s still buggy as hell but at least it doesn’t look schizophrenic. It also lacks the Myspace ‘me generation’ bling cause there’s no way you can screw up the code. I suppose one positive thing is that at least with those sites I can keep in contact with some long lost friends - plus they’re free. What can you expect…
