For­tu­nately, all hope is not lost in these sit­u­a­tions as there is plenty that you can do to both pre­vent and/or recover from a design rut.

Being a suc­cess­ful free­lance designer has a lot to do with per­se­ver­ance and sheer deter­mi­na­tion, not to men­tion tal­ent. There are 3 things that I have found tend to cause free­lance design­ers to stum­ble, how­ever, despite an iron will to suc­ceed. While this list will apply more to new free­lancers, I’ve seen plenty of sea­soned pro­fes­sion­als plagued as well.
